# Absinthe Frappé

A bracing New Orleans cooler that softens absinthe’s anise and herbs with mint, sugar, soda, and crushed ice.

Strength: 23% ABV before dilution

## Ingredients

- 45 ml [Absinthe](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/absinthe.md)
- 15 ml [Simple syrup](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/simple-syrup.md)
- 6 leaves [Mint](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/mint.md)
- 60 ml [Soda water](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/soda-water.md)

## Garnish

- Mint sprig

## Method

1. Gently press the mint leaves with the simple syrup in a shaker.
2. Add the absinthe and ice, shake briefly, then fine-strain into an old fashioned glass filled with crushed ice.
3. Top with soda water, churn once, and crown with more crushed ice.
