# Black Velvet

Equal parts chilled stout and Champagne combine roasted malt, wine acidity, and a remarkably soft, persistent texture.

Strength: 8% ABV before dilution

- 120 ml [Stout](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/stout.md) — Use a dry stout; avoid sweet, flavoured, pastry, or imperial stout.
- 120 ml [Champagne](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/champagne.md) — Use a well-chilled Brut Champagne.

## Method

1. Half-fill a chilled Collins glass with the stout.
2. Slowly top with the Champagne, controlling the foam.
3. Do not stir or add ice.
