# Blackthorn (English)

London dry gin and sloe gin turn a split-vermouth Martini into a dark-fruited, bitters-seasoned counterpart to the Irish Blackthorn.

Strength: 30% ABV before dilution

## Ingredients

- 30 ml [Sloe gin](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/sloe-gin.md)
- 7.5 ml [Sweet vermouth](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/sweet-vermouth.md) — Keep the opened bottle refrigerated and use it fresh.
- 7.5 ml [Dry vermouth](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/dry-vermouth.md) — Keep the opened bottle refrigerated and use it fresh.
- 1 dash [Orange bitters](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/orange-bitters.md)
- 1 dash [Angostura bitters](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/angostura-bitters.md)

- Cocktail cherry — Skewer one good cherry on a short pick.

## Method

1. Stir all ingredients with cubed ice until thoroughly chilled and diluted.
2. Fine-strain into a chilled coupe.
3. Express an orange peel over the surface and discard it.
