# Cynar Julep

This Buenos Aires modern classic makes Cynar the base of a cooling crushed-ice drink with mint, lemon, and bittersweet grapefruit soda.

Strength: 7% ABV before dilution

## Ingredients

- 15 ml [Simple syrup](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/simple-syrup.md) — Use a one-to-one syrup by weight.
- 60 ml [Cynar](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/cynar.md)
- 15 ml [Fresh lemon juice](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/fresh-lemon-juice.md)
- 60 ml [Pink grapefruit soda](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/pink-grapefruit-soda.md) — Use a well-chilled, full-flavoured pink grapefruit soda.

## Garnish

- Grapefruit wedge — Use one slim pink-grapefruit wedge.
- Mint sprig — Arrange a small mint bouquet beside a short straw.

## Method

1. Gently press the mint leaves with the simple syrup in a chilled julep cup.
2. Add the Cynar and lemon juice, half-fill the cup with crushed ice, and churn until cold.
3. Add the grapefruit soda, stir once gently, and crown with more crushed ice.
