# Mojito

Cuba's defining mint highball keeps white rum, lime, sugar, soda, and whole fresh leaves in a cold, fragrant, sparkling balance.

Strength: 17% ABV before dilution

## Ingredients

- 50 ml [Cuban white rum](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/cuban-white-rum.md)
- 25 ml [Fresh lime juice](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/fresh-lime-juice.md)
- 15 ml [Simple syrup](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/simple-syrup.md) — Use a 1:1 syrup.
- 25 ml [Soda water](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/soda-water.md)
- 10 leaves [Mint](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/mint.md) — Use ten to twelve large leaves.

- Mint sprig

## Method

1. Add the rum, lime juice, syrup, and soda water to a highball glass.
2. Add the mint and press it very gently with a bar spoon without tearing the leaves.
3. Fill the glass three-quarters with crushed ice, churn until cold, then crown with more crushed ice.
4. Serve immediately with a straw.
