# Preakness

A tiny measure of Bénédictine seasons a rye Manhattan with honeyed herbs and spice in the 1936 structure associated with Baltimore&#39;s first Preakness Ball.

Strength: 32% ABV before dilution

## Ingredients

- 60 ml [Rye whiskey](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/rye-whiskey.md)
- 30 ml [Sweet vermouth](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/sweet-vermouth.md) — Keep the opened bottle refrigerated and use it fresh.
- 2.5 ml [Bénédictine](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/benedictine.md)
- 2 dashes [Angostura bitters](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/angostura-bitters.md)

## Glassware

Cocktail glass

## Garnish

- Lemon twist — Express the peel oils over the drink, then discard.

## Method

1. Stir all ingredients with cubed ice until thoroughly chilled and diluted.
2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
