# Samoan Fog Cutter

Trader Vic&#39;s later Samoan revision gives rum, Cognac, and gin an unusually broad tropical base before a sweet sherry float turns the citrus-and-orgeat drink savoury at the surface.

Strength: 18% ABV before dilution

- 30 ml [Fresh orange juice](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/fresh-orange-juice.md)
- 15 ml [Orgeat syrup](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/orgeat-syrup.md)
- 15 ml [Cream sherry](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/cream-sherry.md)

## Garnish

- Mint sprig — Clap the mint gently before placing it beside the straw.

## Method

1. Shake everything except the cream sherry with cubed ice until thoroughly chilled.
2. Strain into a chilled Collins glass packed with crushed ice.
3. Float the cream sherry over the surface.
