# Suffering Bastard

Joe Scialom&#39;s wartime Cairo highball, joining gin and brandy with lime cordial, aromatic bitters, and a bracing ginger-beer finish.

Strength: 32% ABV before dilution

## Ingredients

- 30 ml [Gin](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/gin.md)
- 30 ml [Brandy](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/brandy.md)
- 15 ml [Lime cordial](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/lime-cordial.md)
- 2 dashes [Angostura bitters](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/angostura-bitters.md)
- to top [Ginger beer](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/ginger-beer.md)

Collins glass

## Garnish

- Orange slice
- Mint sprig

## Method

1. Shake everything except the ginger beer with ice until well chilled.
2. Strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice.
3. Top with ginger beer and stir once gently.
