# Test Pilot

Donn Beach's compact rum drink layers Jamaican and light rum with lime, falernum, orange, bitters, and a trace of anise.

Strength: 31% ABV before dilution

## Ingredients

- 45 ml [Jamaican rum](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/jamaican-rum.md) — Use a dark, characterful Jamaican rum.
- 22.5 ml [White rum](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/white-rum.md) — Use a light Puerto Rican-style rum.
- 15 ml [Cointreau](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/cointreau.md)
- 15 ml [Falernum](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/falernum.md)
- 15 ml [Fresh lime juice](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/fresh-lime-juice.md)
- 1 dash [Angostura bitters](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/angostura-bitters.md)
- 6 drops [Anise spirit](https://stirred.fyi/ingredients/anise-spirit.md)

## Glassware

Double old fashioned glass

## Garnish

- Cocktail cherry — Spear the cherry for service.

## Method

1. Add all ingredients and 240 ml crushed ice to a blender cup.
2. Flash-blend at high speed for no more than five seconds.
3. Open-pour into a chilled double old fashioned glass and add more crushed ice to fill.
