Dale DeGroff’s rum highball layers oak, orange, lime, ginger, and bitters into a bright long drink with considerably more structure than a simple buck.

- Lime wheel Use one thin fresh wheel.
- Orange slice Use one thin fresh slice.
Ingredients
- Aged rum 45 ml
- Orange curaçao 15 ml
- Ginger beer 60 ml Use cold, freshly opened ginger beer.
- Fresh lime juice 7.5 ml
- Angostura bitters 2 dashes
Preparation
- Build all the ingredients in a chilled highball filled with cubed ice.
- Stir gently to combine without losing carbonation.
